I just don’t find all of these very practical - or maybe it’s just me who’ll need a lot of convincing to go on a thread mill… or do those funky exercises to chance my running style. Also, didn’t you just say not to force a running style? Also in the previous video is says to let the heel show to the sky - just found it not so coherent, but could be just me 😀

Excellent! This is me! Been swimming for triathlons for about 6 years, fine for first few hundred metres, getting pretty smooth and quick (relatively!), but start to struggle after that, gasping, lurching for air and technique falls apart. Tried your breathing tips for one session, and instantly feel much better! Had to stop at 500m cos I ran out of time! Fantastic Taren, thanks so much. Definitely getting your book.
The real difference is in bicycle dimension for Raod bike or Mountain or Hybrid. I feel like the Gravel bike term is another marketing strategy to sell more bikes.

Tips on swimming choppy waters?
Endurance sports needs carbs and lower fat diets.
Nutrient habits are going crazy these days ... even on easy group rides people are eating this overpriced gels and all the artificial stuff.
Do you have to use the belt and noodle?
Is it possible to share the link to the wahoo app that is free. I just can't find it and it seems like that is just what I need. I am using a wahoo kickr v5 and garmin edge 530 together with garmin finix 5s and struggles to get my virtual rides recorded on garmin connect.

Very helpful- getting that right balance is challenging. When you force out so much air on the exhale, you mentally feel the need to take in a big gasp to replace it. This also explains why I found it so much easier to regulate my breath when I used a buoy between my legs- more relaxed, more horizontal, less waste of oxygen from over kicking.
Truly unbelievable. This morning I watched this video, and right after I tried following the recommendations made. The result for me was nothing short of stunning. After many sessions of struggling to swim easier and longer, I managed to swim 800 meters calmly, instead of the 100 meters before. Many many thanks for the video!

I’m so blessed. My local pool has adult swim coached by an open water Olympian (x2). I thought I had decent technique, but boy I was wrong. My biggest lessons: breathing out is more important than breathing in, stretching so your pull gets a couple cm more then follow through to the hip, and You go faster if you fly over the water.

I just use a computer and large monitor, works great
This just makes a heart rate monitor that much more important since everyone says that without one just make sure you're nose breathing. If nose breathing equals zone 2 is all you have to go off you can't mouth breathe to bring your heart rate down.
The only thing that allows me to keep my sanity in large and deep bodies of water is to never ever ever look down😓

I also think that it’s a good idea for endurance athletes who are 40+ y.o. to get CAC score (endurance athletes tend to have higher coronary calcium score compared with sedentary controls… though their higher scores are not always associated with higher risk of MACE) and get followed if they’re in middle to high risk group for ASCVD… at the very least, people who have family history of ASCVD should take low dose aspirin before racing to reduce transient risk of MACE…
You should have some spacers to raise your aerobars for better position, so you can put out more power.

3:50 I recommend adding "Heart rate gauge" instead if your watch has it. It shows a colorful "gauge" where you can see your heart rate zone and where you are within that zone as well.
The Sauna is a great job, probably the steel straps would give you a real tightly bound, im not sure of your choice of roofing though. However it looks like you have a great Sauna for the price.

I use Fulgaz on my Elite Directo XRT pared with a laptop and an hdmi connection to a 43 inch monitor. I find it excellent and very much enjoy riding shorter than triathlon rides all over the world.

Oct 2024 will be my first full marathon but i am not confident enough to finish it because i was suffering running 21km. I'm glad i saw this video. Now i can start from scratch again, to increase my cadence, and lower my heartbeat to build the endurance. i didn't build any muscle nor climbing steep hill. now i would add those in my training list. i really want to do this full marathon, i must change myself and work it out. thanks for your guidance !
